ViHa's Piano Story

Playing piano is a great thing to do. I play the piano because it’s fun and it makes me feel good. When I perfect the song I’ve been practicing for months, or even a part of the song I’ve been working on for weeks, it gives me satisfaction. Also, moving my fingers around the keyboard is really fun, while playing a beautiful song on the piano, too.

Sadie's Singing Story

Hello! My name is Sadie Walker and I have been taking lessons with Archee for around eleven years. I started taking piano lessons but switched to singing after falling in love with musical theatre. I loved taking classes with Archee - she has helped fuel my passion for the musical arts in many ways. I learned numerous singing techniques and the ability to read music which are invaluable skills that I use almost every day. Some of my favorite past pieces that I have worked on were “Think of Me” (Phantom of the Opera), “On My Own” (Les Miserables), “Defying Gravity” (Wicked), and “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” (Wizard of Oz). Over the years, I learned to sing some of my favorite songs while also learning the proper techniques. I have worked on my breath support/control, placement of my voice, and diction during singing. I also had the unique opportunity to work on my singing with a group of three other girls - we learned harmonization and the ability to blend our voices together. Even though I’m now going into the 2nd semester of my sophomore year of college, I look fondly back on all of my years with Pianoforte Music School, and feel amazed at the experiences I have gone through and all the growth I have made as a performer under the wonderful instruction of Archee.

Carmen's Piano Story

I have been a student of Archee's for around 7 years and I am very grateful for having this opportunity to work with her, my eyes have been opened to new worlds of music. My dad plays the violin with my brother playing the piano, hearing them inspired me to begin piano lessons. For the last 5 years I can honestly say I didn't practice consistently, but now over the last year and a half I've been practicing 5 days of the week and have made enormous progress. When both Harrison and my dad play music they go into their own worlds, swaying their heads to the rhythm and escaping into their own realities of music. My dad also would have me listen to classical pieces in the car and I was amazed on how people are able to express so much without words and how this enabled me to feel new emotions. I like the world that piano playing puts me into, and I'm happy that I was introduced to the piano.
